I'm guessing that you're trying to use the Public IP (and or DNS name which translates to your public IP) while inside your network?

The AT&T Gateway doesn't (reliably) support NAT Loopback.  Sometimes it appears to work very slowly for some people... like you.  Most people, doesn't seem to work at all.  In any case, use the private IP in your network and the public IP outside.  Or, get a third party router that has NAT loopback, and configure it with your Gateway's IP Passthrough feature.

Some additional info:  When I request a page, it can sometimes take anywhere from 10 - 120+ seconds to actually see the request hit the access log.  This happens whether I hit the domain or straight to the IP address.

Can I use my existing WIFI network name and password to set up the new BGW320?

This would save a lot of time not having to re-set up every wifi device.

To answer your question, yes you can change the wifi names and passwords to be anything you want.  Be aware that if your 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs are different the BGW will toss up a big warning notice.  Ignore that warning, it's meaningless.

Not 100% meaningless. It will disable band steering between the radios (although the value of which at times is questionable).
