ARRIS BGW 210-700
ATT just installed fibre optic to our home and this is the modem/router all-in-one they provided. Does this model have the Intel Puma 6 chip or Broadcom 3390 chip? Can we use a stand alone modem and stand alone router of our choosing? Is there a list of modems that are ATT compatible?
Thank you, Michael

It has a Broadcom BMC63148 chipset.
There are no third party modems, won't ever be. But you can use a third party router "behind" the BGW using the IP Passthrough capability. You'll want to disable the wifi on the BGW if you do this but you can still use the BGW's Ethernet ports.
