Aris BGW210 - Cascaded Router not saving - Session Refused

I have moved my service to a new address last week and now with a new Aris BGW210 all working but when I try to add the Cascaded Route option to add my static IP the modem take 20s and show session refused and not take the config and requires me to reboot the modem to be able to connect back on the modem portal.

I have IP Pass-thought disable and firewall too.

Any one have an idea how to fix it?

AT&T support have no clue what I'm talking about.

Thanks,

Fred

Yeah that appears to be how they configured my modem during the install. Problem is instead of it just routing all traffic to my static IPs, it keeps track of the individual sessions, so the 8k limitation is still at play.

Hi All,

Sorry my delay but here what happen, after 4h in the phone that day with AT&T and talking with 4-5 people and 2 manager, I have asked to a replacement modem and they schedule it for the follow day and as soon as the new modem was in place all resolved, I was able to save the IP and have the Cascade Router in place.

Btw the reason why Cascade is needed on my case is because I have a Firewall behind the modem and all my network is behind the Firewall so is another gateway/router behind the modem.

So if you have the same issue, ask AT&T Support to swap your modem and you should be good to go.

Thanks,

Fred

Fred, so they gave you a Pace 5268 and that worked or are you saying you got another BGW?

ATT Support tried to tell me that the cascaded router feature still relies on NAT Sessions so they didn't care to help me get that feature working. Can you confirm if that is true now that you have it working? You should be able to see your NAT session summary under Diagnostics. NAT Table.

Does it appear your new BGW210 is running the same firmware as the one you had before?

I don’t believe that information is correct since the NAT will happen in the cascade router.

On my case all happen on the Cascade Route (Firewall) and working fine all my NAT/Static’s IP.

Look at the NAT table in the BGW210.  Are there entries there?   I was told it is not possible to disable NAT in that device.

Also, which DSL gateway supports true bridge mode?  Does it support bonded pair and is it still supported in general on the network?

Yeah Office of the President swore this model did not support true bridge/cascaded router mode. So would love to hear confirmation of what the modem claims is going on at the Nat Table section.
