Which gateway do you have?
The LED on your gateway that is yellow or green is labeled "Wi-Fi"?
Here is an article that allows you to select your Gateway and see the meanings associated with LEDs. My quick survey doesn't show a Gateway that has an LED labeled "Wi-Fi" that has a description for "yellow" or "amber."

It is the wifi icon for each device the “fan” looking image. Some devices are yellow rather than green?

Still no picture. :( The model name should be printed on it. Something like:
BGW320
BGW210
5268AC
NVG 599
NVG 589
3800 HGV
3801 HGV

We're here to help point you in the right direction, @Sandboxgirl!
Just to clarify, are you seeing this on your router, as @JefferMC is stating? Or are you viewing this on our Smart Home Manager application?
Please let us know, we'll be here to assist!
