Why is there no information about yesterday's backbone putage available anywhere?

Just what the title says. It started around 7pm eastern 1.26.2024 and resolved sometime in the early morning hours of 1.27.2024. Many destinations such as Github and some root DNS servers were unreachable over AT&T fiber service (residential and dedicated commercial). Other than hundreds of users reporting the problem via Downdetector and another user complaining here, I can't find any information about the outage. A little transparency from AT&T would be greatly appreciated.

You find any, let me know.  They never have any problems.

Hi @SomeNetworkEngineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We recommend that you use the service outage information to get updates on the outage. Please note, our teams do not have time frames for when an outage will be resolved.  However, we will work as quickly as possible to resolve it.

You can also troubleshoot your service with AT&T's TS&R app.

Let us know if you have any questions. Please feel free to contact us.

They had a problem and then fixed it. What would any information do to help you now?

How did the outage impact your online activities, and did you receive any information or updates from AT&T customer support during the incident?

I saw a similar thread in this forum about GitHub access so it was reported by users.  Call Att and ask for credit.
In a way consider yourselves lucky that it wasn’t longer although I know it’s not much of a consolation.  Also for the future my understanding a viable workaround was to use a VPN.

Already in the month of January I’ve seen two pervasive network issues affecting different regions in Att’s network, cause unknown.

If you have an outage, but not listed, then contact AT&T to report it. If more than a short while on a single day you could consider requesting a Time Without Service credit, though 1/30th of the internet service might be too small to call just for that.

Outside of that I don't know what the OP was looking for with transparency. Problem fixed within a few hours and everyone moves on. They are not going to walk through everything the techs might have done in the past, which doesn't change anything for the consumer, so what possible info at that point would be helpful?

@robbineee  Why? Are you still experiencing an outage or any other issues? How can knowing what the exact problem was help you, or others?
