Why do I have slow speed after 4 or 5 pm EVERY DAY. WHY?

1.  I have business internet. I am supposed to be getting 20 Mbps Express yet I just did a speedtest and I am receiving 9.09 download and 8.00 upload.

2.  I have a verizon cell phone. I works fine all day until after 4 pm ish.  I have 2 bars showing

on my phone out of 4 possible. My phone is hooked up my wireless connection which is hooked

up to the At&T service.

What is the reason?

2. The bars on most (of not all) cell phones always represent the mobile network signal strength, and never the Wi-Fi signal strength, even if the phone has a Wi-Fi connection, so two of four bars just tells me you're a long way from a Verizon tower.

1. If you have business Internet service, there are resources for business customers you should take advantage of.  However, did you ensure that there was no other traffic using the Internet while you were doing the speed test?  Did you do it from a Wired or Wireless connection?  If wireless, try wired for comparison.  Did you try more than one speed test site?

There is one other computer besides mine operating right now and no phones in operation. I originally tested on speedtest.net and I didn't think service would be half of what I am supposed to be receiving. Plus, I have checked before. Yes. The test was done on a wired connection.  I just tested on AT&T and it was slower than speedtest.net.

I just retested again and it was 6.63 download and 8.46 upload.  My phone, even at 2 bars has a down load of 41.83!

20mbps is just the speed leaving the box, they actually don't guarantee you get the entire speed once it reaches the destination. sometimes there may be a connection issue on the line, sometimes it may be caused by moisture, sometimes it just kinda happen and no one really know why. If the technician who installed the service left a service promise form (good luck with that) and left his phone number (an even slimer chance), assuming he still works there (can never tell these days) you can give him a call during work hours and politely ask if he can run a line test see if the cable looks normal (assuming he's a decent guy).

It happened to me once and I just flagged down a random technician working in my friend's house while we were moving and he checked then showed me there is a disconnect in the line.

but if you have ipco then ask him to run a real time and look at the numbers, you can't run line test on ipco

Thank you.  I have the technicians card and will ask him.
