Scamming AT&T door to door salesman

So a couple days ago a AT&T sales representative came to my house persuading me to switch from Charter to AT&T. He said that my current service with Charter is incomparable to charter saying I was paying too much for slow internet speeds. The guy then showed me that with AT&T new fiber optic technology which was just installed at my area could offer me 100Mbs, no contract, and a price lock of 40$ excluding tax. He even gave me a yellow sheet claiming it to be a contract that mention all his points, which I doubt is real. At that point I thought to myself Wow, cheaper and faster than my current Charter service so I went ahead and agreed to purchase the service. So I invited him and his partner in while we did some signing. He then gave me a appointed time in which the AT&T technician will come to set up the internet.

Fast forward a couple of days, the technician installed everything and left, I then checked the internet speed online which showed 790Mbs which caused me to be seriously confused. So after that I called AT&T and asked what my current service was and they said the 80$/month for 12 months contract. I then explained that they must've gotten me something mixed up with the order and explained that I ordered the 40$ price lock, 100Mbs no contract service. To my surprise there is no such service, and that for 100Mbs I had to pay 60$ not 40$.

I then contacted the sales representative that came to my house and described the situation, explained that he will get the problem fixed and have my service changed. He also said that by next week there will be a tech coming over to change the service which made me confused as to why does AT&T need to come to my house to change the service, so I called up AT&T asking if I really had a tech coming over next week, guess what? There isn't a appointment booked.

So after thinking about this I decided to cancel my service, sadly its currently 11PM so I cant get in hold of a representative right now but I'm calling as soon as its available.

I haven't even had the service for even 12 hours, yet I have to experience this nonsense, not only did I waste my time, I got a hole in my garage, have to waste gas on traveling to a USP store to return the AT&T gateway, AND possibly pay a 1 day service fee.

Never EVER switching to AT&T ever again!!!

I wrote this to inform people that AT&T door to door salesman are Scammers.

The same thing happened to me.  Door to door sold me one thing and ATT billing will not honor it.  I have been an ATT customer for 20 plus years and now I don't trust them. ATT billing could tell me those door to door reps are not with us, but they don't.  Instead I was offered a higher price I can not afford which is what I told the door to door rep. It's stealing and I would like to take action against their dishonesty.

Yes I read what I signed, the sales rep was a young guy, I can't really say he was inexperienced because he was ridiculously persuasive but his partner on the other hand didn't say a word.
I also asked him many times before letting him in my house to sign the services which was 40$,price lock, and no contract.
Luckily I canceled the very next day which was in under than 24 hours and didn't get charged anything as far as I know.

Yes for me it wasnt actually "door to door " but when I signed up for Direct an att cell phone sales man came with him, ROBERT ***** and we didnt accept it at first because we were paying $110.00 a week, doing good with what we had. But we called him back and accepted 116.75 a month, unlimited everything. Got the first bill it wasnt right, called Robert, he said he fixed it...another month later still not fixed and they are NO PLANS att has like that...messed up I've spoken to too many people att customer service is the absolute worse and the lie!!! Just got sent to the loyalty dept and all if a sudden the girl "could not hear me" really???

Not happy, it's too late to get out now,[Per Guidelines:  Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].

The person who didn't say a word was being trained by the salesperson you spoke to. It's an awful scam for you but much worse for the scammers. I worked one day for an awful company who does AT&T door to door sales. The scammers make 0 money but feel they need to lie about their salary to protect their company who has completely brainwashed them. They became excellent at persuasion bc they have no choice but to excel at that in order to make enough money to survive. It's a 360 scam that gets meshed into young, innocent, intelligent, individuals.  The "Fortune 500 Company" I work for is now afraid of me since I've figured out this not so complicated pyramid scheme. They no longer take my calls or respond to my emails. Nor have they actually called the police. I did though. They're now in at least the 3rd location since they keep breaking their lease since September of this year, not even 60 days ago!I know this for fact because I ran into the building manager where they were 2 locations ago and she told me they ran out in the middle of the night. They told me they were moving bc of how successful they are. Good Lord! They were running CB they are criminals!! If you're in it you don't see it, you believe it. They taught a lesson on The Golden Rule of all things. Please turn them away and pass this on!!!

Same here..

The salesman came to our place and persuaded me to switch from our previous company.Gave me the same price with a better speed for internet alone. The online  bill shows 30 dollars more than what we had agreed on paper,he gave me documented AT&T paper receipt. I called the customer support few times in vain, they are not sure about the price.we feel really cheated,as we cancelled the promotional offer from the previous company and paying almost more than double what we were paying.

Jamie [edited for privacy-please do not post personal or unique information such as but not limited to full names, employee ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.] and AT&T,

I am writing to let you know that I have contacted The Better Business Bureau and I have also attached AT&T to this email.  I have never been so disappointed in the customer service that we have received.  You came into our home and I trusted all that you explained about what a great transition it would be for our family to switch from Version (in which I have been a long time customer for almost 20 years) to AT&T and how you would be the best agent for us to use.  It all started when you said we could call you and you would set up my mother in laws phone and you never answered any of our calls.  We ended up spending 3 hours on the phone with AT&T trying to get help 5 different times and NOONE seems to want to help us!!  We know have a tablet and a phone that you said you would come get and that has not happened.  We are now being charged for both of these products and our monthly bill is $250, you said it would be $180.  This is more that we paid at Version and if you would have been truthful from the start I would have NEVER changed companies. You also said that AT&T would pay off our remaining balance for Version and since I have not been able to get in touch with you and no one at AT&T will help I now have a $1500 bill from them. If you are still a amazing sales person like you told us and a family man that can understand that a cost like this can be detrimental to a family then you would contact my husband or myself to help us.

I will be fighting this with everything I have!!!! All I ask is that you follow through with what you promised.  I cannot believe that AT&T would allow this kind of representation for there company go on.

I was scammed. Two young gentlemen came saying they were from at&t and sold us on switching from our then current provider, they were very persuasive, even wrote everything on paper. The At&t service person didn't show the first time, and the representative offered me a $200 gift card in consolation for the inconvenience (which I wasted a whole day at home waiting for, their window for service is very wide[still never got the gift car]). The actual AT&T tech that showed up was wonderful.

I was told that I was locked into a $40/month internet for 2 years, and that it needed to be with a uverse bundle on paper, but that I could cancel that after a 1 month trial period with no penalty.

Now At&t wants to charge $70 a month for internet, and an early termination fee for the tv.

The internet is slower and now costing more than double what I was paying for before. Customer service is giving me the run around.

They won't acknowledge the people 'representing' their company who deceived me. basically said, 'did you read what you signed?' the answer is 'yes.' it says 'I confirm that the AT&T Sales Representative reviewed the fees and disclosures provided to me.' and I was lied to.
