We would be happy to help you with your Slow Internet issue @Talonro!

Are you having this slowness with all devices in your home, or just certain one/s.

Are you having this issue in all parts of your home, or some areas?

Wi-Fi can be affected by the environment, here is some info we have on things that can affect your internet in the home, and also how you can optimize your network.

We also recommend using the Smart Home Manager app. It can do a series of tests, walk you through troubleshooting, and ensure you are getting the most out of your service.

Use it to check the follow:

  1.  Speed Test tool - New devices being added to your network could impact the speed of your internet service. Internet speed refers to how fast your internet works, as well as how many devices you can connect at once. Tools > Speed Test > Begin Speed Test
  2. You can check what devices you have connected with the option to remove ones that you no longer want connected. Menu > Devices
  3. Channel Scan tool - The feature automatically looks for a more optimal channel and makes a channel change with the goal of improving Wi-Fi performance. Tools > Channel Scan > Begin Channel Scan
  4. If the issue is happening in some areas of your home, check out the Do I need a WiFi Extender tool: Tools > Do I Need Smart Wi-Fi Extenders? > Continue.

Please let us know if this helps resolve the issue!

I had justed upgraded my AT&T 100mb plan to its 1GB plan and now everything is slower, did a speed test next to the router and had a 39.9 gb download speed, I am paying for 1GB, had double that when I had the cheaper plan.

Hey @Talonro, thanks for following up. We definitely want to make sure you're getting the best speed possible.

There are several things that could be causing the service not to go as fast as it should. If you could tell us the following, it will help us narrow down some of the causes.

  • Please tell us if this problem is just on one computer/device or if everything is running slow?
  • Would it be possible to connect one of your devices directly to the AT&T Gateway(router) and see if the speed improves?

We look forward to hearing back from you.
