Modem Broadband 1 & 2 red lights flashing

The Broadband 1 & 2 lights are flashing red and so my internet is down. How do I fix this, or this is a DSL issue, having to do with the internet provider?

Both normally solid green, now flashing red would be an indication of damaged line.

Could be inside  or outside line issue.

Some possibilities include…

animals like pets chewing on the data cable cable to the gateway, mice, squirrels, birds, etc.

high winds, storms with fallen limbs or whole trees

fire

cut line from someone digging such as construction, planting, fences, pool, etc.

A tech dispatch to determine cause and repair is recommended.

If determined to be under your control, expect a $99 service charge.

To translate: If you moved your furniture around inside your house and pulled the cord that connects your Gateway to the wall, AT&T will charge you $99 for finding that out for you, so it's best to check those sorts of things before you call.

On the other hand, if there's a wire pulled lose from the pedestal, then AT&T will need to fix that, and there should be no charge for that visit.
