How to get a support tech onsite to fix unreliable / spotty internet connection?
Hi,
Like many Americans I work hard from sun up to sundown, and I call AT&T from my cell phone with AT&T service. My cell service is poor in my area so I utilize a Microcell which has proven unreliable. I have had the shoddiest and most unreliable internet connection for over a year. Every single time I have tried to call, I get routed to multiple folks, and I cannot get my problem resolved. Either A) the call is disconnected/dropped or B) the technical service rep informs me I have to be home to troubleshoot with them. I am technically competent, and there is no evidence of a faulty router. Rather, the problem lies in the router location. When we had fiber service first installed when we moved into our home last year, the technician installed it on the bottom floor in a corner. An AT&T field tech came out a few months ago and stated the router needs to be reinstalled upstairs to broadcast the signal throughout the house properly. He provided us with a WiFi repeater that has also proven useless. The router must sit upstairs in the center and the requires cabling for my problem to be resolved. Since AT&T installed it an area that inhibits a good signal, they are responsible for rectifying the situation.
How the heck can I get someone out to my house to fix this when I work Monday-Friday?
