can't send spectrum/roadrunner email using AT&T internet
Hello,
We just switched from Spectrum to ATT and I can't send email now using my Roadrunner account with my AT&T internet service.
I have seen several threads that state to have a complete username and password with SSL selected and to use port 587 for server mail.twc.com
I have all of this configured and my email still does not send.
I still have my Spectrum service so I ran a traceroute on the mail server and see the following:
traceroute to mail.twc.com (47.43.26.4), 64 hops max, 52 byte packets

I then switch over to my AT&T internet and run the same traceroute. I don't see any Spectrum ip address in the list, only AT&T.
I would expect to see a spectrum IP in the list if they were rejecting my attdempt to access mail.twc.com

We're happy to look into this for you, @johna27502.
What error message do you get when you try to send email from your Spectrum account?
Have you reached out to their customer support to make sure that your email account is still active after switching providers?

I'm having the same problem. I'd like to send email using my roadrunner email @austin.rr.com using the ATT server since that's what the WIFI i'm connecting to is. I thought I could send any email but i'm not sure why it's rejecting it.

I've also noticed that when attempting to send Spectrum RoadRunner email on my AT&T phone internet that I get error reaching server greeting message. I'm using AquaMail on a Note 10+ as I have for years. Nothing has changed except for the recent sending mail error. I believe that some blocks of AT&T mobile ip addresses may be blocked by Spectrum as spam. As soon as I turn on wifi and connect the mail will send just fine. It should be noted that 3 other email addresses, with 3 different email providers, work just fine on either wifi or AT&T mobile internet...just not the Spectrum RoadRunner email (which is why I think it's a IP Block issue). Would you, AT&T, please check with Spectrum for mobile internet IP address blocks?

As soon as I am off my spectrum wifi, I still receive emails, but I cannot send. This is a problem. The email settings are correct. I am using port 587 for outgoing mail.

Similar to johna27502, I performed a trace route on my iPhone.
see the results below. When on spectrum wifi, you can see it going through spectrum addresses.

I've been on the phone all day today. Twice with Spectrum, once with Apple, once with AT&T. Spectrum and Apple point to AT&T. AT&T claims it's Spectrum. This is complete nonsense.
It has to be AT&T. It works fine when I'm on Spectrum wifi. It does NOT work when I'm on AT&T network.

It's Spectrum, they have a blocks of At&t's mobile network identified as spam, so that's why Spectrum won't allow it. That's also why it works regardless of what wifi you are on. At& and Spectrum need to get together to unblock those ip blocks.

Hello ... Has anyone figured out how to fix this problem ? Like others, outbound RoadRunner mail does not go on the AT&T Network. WiFi is fine. Thanks.

Yes,
I fixed it by staying with Spectrum and cancelling AT&T.
