Can I change from 5.0 GHz to 4.2GHz?

I need to change so I can connect my security cameras.

Thank you for reaching out to us, and we understand your concern. Let us help you with the information about how to change from 5.0 GHz to 4.2GHz.

  1. Access Your Router Settings:
    Open a web browser on a device connected to our AT&T network.
    Type our IP address 192.168.1.254.
    Log in using your credentials.
  2. Navigate to Wi-Fi Settings:
    Once logged in, look for the Wi-Fi settings section.
    You should see both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks listed.

Generally the procedure is to login to the management console in the gateway to temporarily disable the 5GHz radio, connect your devices, and then restore settings.  Everything will remain connected.  
Fair warning there may be other long term issues with your connected WiFi devices due to limitations in the gateway itself.
