ATT says I owe money from an account, but I've never had one till recently
I moved into a new apartment that uses att fiber internet. I called to set up an account, and I was told I have an outstanding debt of $600+ dollars from an account in my name already. This is my first ATT account, so I think someone has used my identity. I got mail at my parents house when I was younger, but I thought it was all spam/fraudulent so I ignored it. Then I saw it on my credit report, disputed it, and it was removed. But ATT still says I owe them money. How do I go about this? Can I submit a case?

We'll be happy to point you in the right direction to get this matter resolved @Saraha93.
If your identity was used to establish AT&T service without your knowledge, you'll need to contact our Global Fraud Management team. For digital phone, internet, or U-verse TV accounts, call 888.471.4576. You will be able to submit a case through that team.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community!

I’m in the same boat. AT&T says I owe $1300 for an account I never owned. I’ve been with AT&T for 15 years. I’ve paid my regular bill on time no problems. This other unknown account I know nothin about. Now I can’t do anything except cancel my regular plan and move to another carrier.
