Att fiber

I have ATT fiber at the apartment complex i am in. I'm moving into a house that is already set up for ATT fiber. Do i need a tech to come out or can i get the service switched to the new address and hook the modem up myself?

You should be able to do a self install. When you place the move order you will be told whether you can self install. I would opt for a tech install though. No charge for it and that will pretty much guarantee you get service. Unless there is the dreaded outside facilities problem in the new home’s neighborhood.

@dxdjay

I'm moving into a house that is already set up for ATT fiber.

Is it already setup for AT&T Fiber to be installed or does it has active fiber or just shows AT&T Fiber is available at your new address. If a customer is currently using AT&T Fiber at your new address they will have to move their service or drop service it is not available when they move.

As @browndk26 indicated if you have an option for a tech install take it. The current AT&T Fiber service may not have been left in a working order with the ONT and a power supply left behind as AT&T requests for a quick self-install. You also might want your Fiber Modem installed in a different locaiton in the house.

It is already installed and that was what the owner of the house had as service before moving out was att fiber.

Also, the house is a little more than a year old in a new edition.

If offered the tech install, take it. Just to be on the safe side.
