AT&T $300 SCAM
When I originally signed up for services my husband and I asked SEVERAL times about the $300 gift card eligibility because of the att forum reviews and knowing a couple of people who have had bad experiences with att. The representative confirmed I qualified for the $300 gift card if I did the direct tv stream and fiber optic internet bundle. So I signed up for the bundle (like an (Edited per community guidelines)). Today 3/1/23 the reward center, att customer service, and direct tv customer support all say I only qualify for $150. I specifically ask the manager at direct tv and the reward center if all calls were recorded, to which they both stated “yes all calls are recorded”. I confirmed all calls are recorded because I wanted my original sign up call pulled and reviewed. What do you know, all of a sudden I get the same answer from both- “all call aren’t recorded, only some are recorded for quality and training purposes, I confirmed with the escalation team and my manager.” So I state how it’s suspicious that they would answer yes to that question and then it changes when I ask for their company to review my sign up call. Once I started talking about posting on this forum, writing reviews wherever I could, and how it’s a huge scam and this company deserves a (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines) for fraud the attitudes changed to “we can escalate to raise your hand complaints and give a $15 credit”. I just want what I was promised. You offer something to your customers and then don’t follow through. This is terrible customer service and I will be canceling as soon as I can. Pathetic and a waste of time.

Get all of your paperwork and any other documentation you have and file a complaint with the BBB. That will go to Corporate and someone from the Office of the President will contact you. They may be able to help.

Update: AT&T corporate has contacted me as well as the raise your hand complaint dept. Corporate asked me how I signed up, where I got promo info and a few small other things. I explained the advertisement was on the ATT website and confirmed the number I called. She confirmed their website DOES have the $300 offer and she would investigate more.
Raise your hand complaint contacted as well and confirmed I was promised the $300 gift card when signing up over the phone. They apologized for inconveniencing me and they would be issuing card immediately.

I was getting recorded messages on ROBO calls to call AT&T Direct TV, at 888 978 5003, when I called I was given a $300 deal to reduce my bill for the next 24 months plus $100 gift card, plus HBO,Cinamax, Stars and 2 more premium channels for life, no charge. All I needed to do was purchase a $300 Apple gift card, and pay my next 4 months up front with that card by 8:00 tonight, and of course I was given a code to use (DTV196B32) after calling this number, 888 315 7518, and using extension # 1 . After calling the 888 315 7518 and getting the AT&T Direct TV answer prompt, and pushing extension 1. I could of sworn I was back in the same call center that told me to buy the $300 Apple gift card. after talking to another India sounding person that already knew my code, and could not answer some pretty basic billing questions, I became very suspicious. Next I called a different a # from a billing statement, to learn there is not a promotion being offered on my account, Darn. watch out fellow Republicans they are good! Just thought Ya'll should know... Peace Out World,

That is a well known scam that’s been going around for awhile now. So much so that DirecTV broadcast a warning.
