Accepting Billing responsibilities for home Internet. Error SD024

I’ve been trying to take over of my internet and wireless billing since June of this year. First problem was unified billing (I got help on this forum, non of the ATT reps knew what was that old error we kept getting). We took care of it it almost Two months later I finally was able to transfer wireless over. Now problem with home internet remains. My ex initiated transfers (after billing was de unified) few times. I never received an email request to accept it. However two weeks later i would get an email saying that request has expired since I didn’t accept it. He just started another request on Monday and I still didn't get the request. I went on Att website and followed link for accepting billing responsibilities and filled out all the info. After submitting I got an error SD024 asking to wait few minutes and try. I tried using different browsers multitudes and I keep getting same error. Please help! Thank you in advance!

You can't do a Transfer of Responsibility (TOS) for Internet service. It is only for Cellular phone service.

You will need to cancel and start new service for Internet service or traditional landline phone service.

Thank you @dave006  I was hoping to learn that there is a way to do it. In 6 years of having att and direct tv, there have been tons of problems with equipment and some rude technicians, providing service. Multiple equipments were sent back n force, so many hours wasted on the phone with reps, until finally we got this last router, which has been working fine for over a year. I was hoping I could avoid sending it back :(

I have been experiencing the exact same problem for months. The last I heard it is an IT issue on their end that they have yet to fix. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

@desiroe  what are you talking about? transfer of billing responsibility? that cant be done with internet, u-verse, nor directv only cell service can be transferred.

I recently changed the name on our internet and tv bill from my wife’s name to my name. This generated a new account number and cancelled the previous account. Is that different than transfer of billing responsibility?

@browndk26 Did you have to send the equipment back? I  am trying to avoid sending it back. I do not want to deal with all the hassle plugging, unplugging and reconnecting all the devices I have currently connected to my router. We are still dealing with this problem, in Att’s system the bill still showing as a combined bill for my ex’s wireless and my home internet. Im thinking, maybe we should just try to change the name like you did.

@Anka1983 I did not have to return any equipment. Be aware that if you are able to do it this way, you will have to prepay your first month service.
