$250.00 Reward Never Received

When I set up the gigabit internet at my new apartment in May (2023) , I was told in 6 months I would receive a reward card for $250.00.. So it has been a little over 6 months and I have not heard or received anything.. So I called the local AT&T rep who set up the account and left messages for him to call me. He has not called me back.. Here is what I have learned while waiting for a call I won't receive.

1) It's not six months It's like four. (was misinformed)

2) AT&T doesn't just mail you a reward card, you have to claim it.. (which no one told me)

3) I have never received an email or snail mail notification regarding my reward.

4) I spoke to management regarding my reward and they can't / won't help me.

5) There are a lot of people in the same boat as me.

6) These unfulfilled claims don't seem to be getting resolved which is a shame..

I am hoping someone can really resolve this for me.. I was offered a 100.00 reward card "for my time"  because I escalated the issue.. However, I would like the $250.00 card that I was promised. It's not my fault I was misled and didn't receive any emails or letters regarding the award a lot of other people didn't get notified either.

I have spoken to the rewards center as well as the loyalty department and I have gotten nowhere.. This is pretty frustrating. To be told you will receive something in six months, come to find out it's four. Then it's not mailed to you like you were told, instead, you have to claim it. On top of that, you never received emails or anything by postal mail letting you know about the reward.. I call to check on it after 6 months and now I find out that they can't go that far back and reissue the reward..

Very disappointing..

Hey There,

It's frustrating to be promised a $250.00 reward for setting up gigabit internet, only to be left hanging for over 6 months without any sign of it. Despite leaving messages for the local AT&T rep who initially set up the account, there's been no response. It's disheartening to face this lack of communication and fulfillment of the promised reward. This experience highlights the importance of reliable customer service and the need for companies to honor their commitments. If you've faced a similar situation or have any advice, please share – navigating these issues can be quite a challenge.

Best of Luck.

Hello Community,

I totally empathize with your situation. It's incredibly frustrating to be misled about the timeline for a reward, especially when there's a lack of communication about the claiming process. It's disheartening to hear that the local AT&T representative hasn't been responsive, and the discovery that many others are facing the same issue is concerning. The fact that management seems unable or unwilling to assist compounds the problem. Offering a $100 reward card as a token for escalating the issue is appreciated, but the primary goal is to obtain the promised $250 reward. It's not just about the money; it's about the principle of honoring commitments made to customers. I hope someone can step in and resolve this for you and the others affected. It's essential for companies to uphold their promises and provide the support customers deserve.

Best Regards.

I am in the same situation as Mikejn1 except I am out $270 - They have only offered me $50 credit for the issues they created.

Thanks. Would you be willing to anonymously share your story with a news outlet? This is a bigger issue than I think anyone realizes. If so, let me know and we can talk logistics.

I am still waiting for my AT&T and DirectTV gift cards. The AT&T rewards dept said that the card was mailed on 12/29. When I called last week they said they would send a replacement that should arrive within 3 weeks. I swear they are just hoping that people will forget about the promotion or that people won’t have the time to chase the card down.
