Register a new microcell

I purchased a Cisco 3G microcell recently from Amazon. I've signed into my att.com account and tried to register it, but the session times out from too many redirects. I'd like to use it at another address where the AT&T wireless signal is too weak indoors. Has AT&T decided not to allow any more microcells to be added to existing accounts and move all users to WiFi calling instead?  This house is rather old and the WiFi coverage is not that good; I believe this device would work better for voice and text purposes. Any ideas?

The MicroCell reached its end of life three years ago and is no longer being sold by AT&T. The website has not been maintained in well over two years.   Your description of the problem logging in is common. The recommendation is that you use Wi-Fi calling

3-g is gradually and currently being shut down, and when it is shut down completely the MicroCell will cease to function.

There have been lots of issues with the myAT&T MicroCell Settings page. Accessing it from the outside (customer) results in multiple re-directs and the connection eventually times out. It is possible, with lots of tries to get to the settings page but there is no guarantee that your changes will be saved as there are also issues with the page itself. AT&T is aware of this but with the service being discontinued no later than Feb. 2022 once AT&T shuts down their 3G service, allocating resources to fix the problem are a low priority.

WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) is what AT&T and us recommend now if your phone is capable. The MicroCell will soon be nothing more than a doorstop.

As a cautionary note, there is a seller on Amazon who was able to purchase quite a few brand new MicroCells from Cisco somehow but the MicroCells were never sent to AT&T so they were never entered into the system. Even if you are able to get to your settings page, AT&T might not recognize the serial number. Just a heads up.

Thanks to all; returned unit to seller and will try WiFi calling next time we're at this location.

@bt8213 I'm glad that you were able to return it for a refund. Personally, I wouldn't purchase a MicroCell from Amazon now even if the MicroCell Settings page was working as it should. As I mentioned, I don't know if your particular MicroCell was from the bulk purchase from Cisco that an individual acquired months ago and was inquiring about them here or not, so even if the Settings page was working, the units may not have been able to be registered/activated because they were never in the AT&T system originally.

I'm having same issue with used Microcell from Ebay. Have had luck with these in the past, and I have a few working fine, but the management page now does not work at all.

I have been on numerous calls and chats with ATT and they seem to pretend that they are activating the microcell but are not actually doing it lol.  Very frustrating :)

@Cheers2you There have been issues with the MicroCell Settings page for months. Sometimes you can access it, most of the times not. There is no problem for Support to access it internally but external access (customer) keeps redirecting until the request timesout. AT&T is aware of it but fixing it is not a priority item for AT&T now being as the service itself will be discontinued no later than Feb. 2022 once AT&T begins to shutdown their 3G network. The IT Support and Engineers who are responsible for the MicroCell have been reassigned or moved on to other projects so allocating resources is not something that AT&T is currently willing to do.

I would recommend you consider other options for improving your in-home coverage like upgrading to WiFi-C (WiFi Calling), purchasing a cellular booster, or switching carriers.
