Microcell - calls cut in and out on my end with voicemail and 3-way/on-hold calls

I've done some searching through these forums as well as others and I'm not seeing anyone with the same problems I'm having.  Hopefully someone on here can help me out.

First some background.  I'll start with saying Samsung phones are terrible.  I had a Galaxy S4 and had an issue with the phone not ringing when people call while I was at home.  Changed to LG G4, problem was gone.  Upgraded again to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active and problem comes back.  Doubt that it's coincidental.

Since I work from home I figured I'd try the Microcell.  For the most part, problem is fixed.  Everything connected ok, activated, phones connect to Microcell, phone now rings when people call all the time.  HOWEVER, there's another odd issue with call quality.  Here's the symptoms:

1. If I call someone and they answer, sometimes I can't hear them for a half a second.  Then everything seems to be ok.

2. If I call someone and get their voicemail, the sound cuts out on my end, goes on and off for about a second at a time.  I can't understand their end and so I almost can never leave a message.  I think this seems to only happen when I'm calling another cell phone and not on landlines.

3. If I'm on the phone and someone calls me, if I put the original person on hold to answer the other call the sound cuts out for a second, in for a second, out, in, etc.  I can't hold the conversation and I have to drop both calls and call them back.

4. If I'm on the phone and try to initiate a 3-way call, same problem.  Cuts in and out.  Doesn't matter if it's a cell or land line.  If someone else initiates the 3-way call everything works ok.

I'm on Charter internet with continuous 95+ Mbps download and 4+ Mbps upload.  I have quite a few devices on my network but I've not found anything stating that this would be an issue.

Anyone else have this same issue?  Any tips on what to try?  I've looked through Otter Pylot's guide but I'm not having connectivity issues, just these odd problems stated above.

Thanks in advance!!

@bob_lipp - I much prefer WiFi-C on my iPhone because the call quality and reliability is considerably better than the MicroCell. Certainly on par, if not above, our landline. However, we are still a mixed environment so I need to keep the MicroCell up and running. We have not had any of the issus that others have been reporting since about November, which I think is part of the reason that it is taking AT&T and/or the ISPs so long to fix. It is not a network wide issue nor is it specific to any one ISP or phone. Even tho some customers (TWC/Charter/Spectrum) did have issues that were due to the ISP and not AT&T). All I can say at this point is that AT&T is working on it with the ISPs but not enought resources, in my opinion, have been allocated to it. There are just too many other fires that AT&T has to put out. The dropping of the 2G network and DirecTV Now problems are two issues that immediately come to mind that created some unexpected circumstances.

Thank you for your response.

*UPDATE* January 21, 2017

I called ATT about my MicroCell issues. The lady I spoke with said that she had received a similiar call a week before mine.

What worked for that previous customer and me was that she turned OFF an LTE Calling option. This option was only on ATT's end and this is differnt than the LTE data which stays intact. I couldn't get much more clarity than that, so I hope this helps someone out.

@c2praise - the disabling/enabling LTE, either on the phone or on your account has been AT&T's go-to "solution" for some time. It usually doesn't work or if it does, it's only temporary. I have no idea what the LTE "option" is on AT&T's end unless it has something to do with VoLTE, which is necessary for WiFi-C (WiFi Calling). I leave LTE enabled on my iPhone and have none of the issues that are mentioned in this thread with our MicroCell. And if I enable Airplane Mode, and enable WiFi-C on my phone, calls are clear and calling options work just fine (call waiting, incoming calls, con-calls, etc) just like whan I'm using the MicroCell.

@davekjell - AT&T is testing a fix in a certain region but there is nothing to report. They have to make sure it is stable and doesn't break anything else. That's going to take time so all you can do is be patient. The issue is not network wide nor specific to any one ISP, equipment setup, region, or model of phone. Some us have never experienced any issues at all, and that's what is making it so difficult to fix.

Ottopylot,  I know in the past you recommended checking the voltage for the A/C adapter,  My dph154 black model is at 12v.  Does that sound correct.  I thought I remember reading somewhere on these forums that is should be 16v.  Thanks

@Risk503 - The ac adapter needs to output 12V. If you test it with a voltmeter, and is reads 12V with no load, that's no good. It should read 16VDC +/- 0.5 with no load. The reason is that once a load is applied, the output will drop a bit so reading at 16VDC with no load, gives the adapter head room so that it can easily maintain 12V output.

What problems are you experiencing? If it is the garbled incoming calls, I doubt if that's the reason. The reason is at the Mobility Server end. However, you should still replace the adapter with one of the same rating to make sure you don't start developing other issues that could confuse the situation.

My issues are first 10 seconds of incoming call are cutting in and out. Then fine. Lots of others with these same issues. ATT is sending a new unit and adapter. We'll see.

@Risk503 - the new MicroCell will probably not make a difference. This issue is on the AT&T Mobility server side. There is a fix coming.  However, I would purchase another adapter because that one is not meeting specs and may confuse the issue.
