I need both wifi&omicron cell
How do I keep both options? I need the micro cell for text messages from non apple users. This is just how it's playing out. The wifi connection is not helping with android platforms for text. Not sure about calls yet. But see, I still can't make calls even with the micro cell, until I turned on the wifi call option. I need both to remain active. How do I do this?

@LauraPdenver - Android-based phones have always been problematic with the MicroCell. SMS/MMS issues are more on the OS side than they are on the MicroCell side. We always recommend folks leave WiFi enabled on their phones when using the MicroCell so that calls will go thru the MicroCell and data will go thru your WiFi connection. Some phones just handle that better than others. The MicroCell doesn't "need" WiFi enabled on your phone to work but it does make life easier.
The MicroCell can be used without having WiFi enabled on your phone but it will be slower when trying to push voice and data thru the MicroCell.
To use WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) when your phone is registered to the MicroCell you will need to enable Airplane Mode on the phone after you have set it up for WiFi Calling. That disables the cellular radio on the phone so it won't "see" the MicroCell and will use your WiFi connection to receive and place calls. The phones will always preferentially attempt to connect to a cellular signal over WiFi and there is no way that I know of, at least for iPhones, to force your phone to pick between the two. If you live in a mixed environment (phones that are WiFi-C capable and some not WiFi-C capable) then you will either have to enable Airplane Mode or remove your phone number from the MicroCell so it won't recognize it as a cellular tower.
Do not confuse WiFi and WiFi-C. They both use WiFi but can be used separately or at the same time.
I prefer WiFi-C over the MicroCell because call quality is much better and more reliable. I have no problems sending or receiving text messages to non-iPhone users, but we are a mixed environment so I just leave WiFi enabled on my iPhone and use the MicroCell without any issues.

You need wifi to use a Microcell. Phones that are not capable of wifi calling can use the microcell.
It is possible to have both.
