Cell booster

As I have previously written, I received a letter from AT&T early this year with instructions as to how to get a free cell booster. I had an active Microcell. I went on line, followed their instructions, received notice I had a cell booster on the way! I even had an ID number given to me fir the specific booster. Well, it never arrived, & no one at AT&T knows “anything!” I have been an AT&T customer for over 55 years.

I went to an authorized store a couple of days ago, to get assistance in transferring my info from my iPhone to a new iPhone I had just purchased and had been delivered to my home. While there, I mentioned the cell boosters. The young man who was assisting me, knew nothing about them. Another sales person there said they had some”in the back.”

I was royally screwed by AT&T. My service is horrible, dropped calls, my battery was wearing out! Had to charge it in the middle of the day! That has never happened ever!

T-Mobile has a (Edited per community guidelines) suit against them. I don’t really know anyone with Verizon. I don’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire. Thinking about getting my landline back for business calls since I am tired of dropped calls, or the connection being so bad I can’t hear the other person or vice versa!

At some point, AT&T will fire Stankey & someone, hopefully more competent, will take the reins.

@Soxwriter  Authorized AT&T Stores are retail outlets. They are independently owned and operated separate from AT&T and are not staffed by AT&T employees. They only sell AT&T goods and services and pretty much play by their own rules. They work on commission and will do and say just about anything to make a sale, at least most of them. And they really haven't a clue about current AT&T-approved deals, promos, or devices like the Cell Booster.

If you still have the email that AT&T sent, with the broken link for ordering one, then I'd use that as "proof" you had a previous MicroCell account and file a complaint with the BBB. Those will go straight to Corporate and someone from the Office of the President should contact you in a couple of days. They may be able to still get you one.

If your phone is capable of WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) then that really is the preferred method for improving poor in-home coverage. Keep in mind that the Cell Booster is LTE only so your phone needs to meet the post-3G AT&T cellular requirements.

I wasn’t in the store about the cell booster. I chatted with the person helping me while my info was transferring from one phone to the other.

The Wi-Fi calling wears down the battery. I just have no good reception because w we have no towers in my area.  I sent Stankey the emails I had but I didn’t even get the courtesy of a return response, phone call, nothing. I am tired of fooling with them. It just raises my blood pressure. I will cut a deal with someone else but I have a lot of irons in the fire right now. I am doing some remodeling at home, had to find a new lawn service, et al  Getting upset with AT&T ruins my day & I have had to step back from it. They are not worth having a stroke over! But don’t worry. I haven’t finished with them yet. LOL

@Soxwriter  Sending an email to anyone is Management is an exercise in futility, like it is for any provider. They are not going to respond and if they do, it's more than likely a canned response or a subordinate who just screens emails.

I use WiFi-C exclusively in my home and I don't see any appreciable difference in battery usage. A lot of it depends on your phone and how you use it. If you have poor Wifi coverage your phone could always be searching for a signal.

Either you file a complaint with the BBB and hopefully someone from the Office of the President will contact you or you switch to a provider who offers better coverage in your area.
