ATT cell phone reception

I recently moved and have awful reception at my home. Calling ATT is crazy as they go down a checklist, checking my phone. It is NOT my phone. It is reception. Everyone, regardless of provider have issues in this area. Very weak signal. Any suggestions. Would a booster help? And really, should I have to pay for that when it is an att problem? Any advice would be appreciated. I am so tired of spending hours on phone calls with ATT when none of them really address the issue, just go down their checklist.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s ATT’s problem or not, no carrier guarantees coverage in any specific location. ATT simply isn’t going to provide a free booster. Going down a checklist is the only thing phone agents can do. It’s not like they can make your cellular signal stronger. Besides, ATT’s solution for poor coverage at home is WiFi calling. You should try that first. If that doesn’t help, a booster might but if coverage at home is important, switching to a different carrier might be the best option. It is the customer’s responsibility to select a carrier that provides the coverage they need where they need it.

Yeh, no carrier is very good unfortunately. And I have an ATT contract but I moved. Not good. Coverage was good where I bought it but I had to move.

Hello, @ckahler123 we're happy to help with options for your cell reception connectivity.

When you experience dropped calls or poor signal reception, have you noticed other devices being affected by this issue as well?

In the event, this occurs in your area specifically and with multiple devices, it is possible, the problem is the coverage offered. I understand this can be inconvenient and I would like to offer some options to improve the service in your location.

As mentioned by, @sandblaster If you have a Wi-Fi network connection at home and a compatible phone, you can benefit from free feature called Wi-Fi Calling'. This feature allows you to talk and text from indoor locations where cellular signal is weak.

  • Cell phone boosters can be of help if you're experiencing problems due to a weak signal. You can have a weak signal for various reasons ranging from the distance your home is at from the cell tower to your home's building materials. A cell booster is likely to amplify the existing outside cell signal and broadcasts it to the area of your home, office, car, truck, RV or boat that needs better AT&T cell signal.

If you don't have a strong enough wireless signal? AT&T Cell Booster or Cell Booster Pro may be able to help. See if you can use an AT&T Cell Booster or Cell Booster Pro in your area by entering in your Zip code. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

You don’t have a contract. ATT quit doing service contracts years ago. A phone payment plan is not a contract, you can pay off the phone and leave at anytime. Unfortunately, if you getting credits on the phone, you will lose any remaining credits if you pay off early and leave.

@ckahler123  As @sandblaster mentioned there are no contracts with AT&T anymore, only payment plans.

To improve in-home cellular coverage your options are to one, use WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) if your phone is capable, two, purchase a Cell Booster (femtocell) from AT&T, three, purchase a cellular booster (see my Cellular Booster Guide, link is in my sig line), or switch to a carrier who offers better coverage.

1. Start using WiFi-C (WiFi Calling) if your phones are capable and you have good WiFi.

2. Purchase the AT&T Cell Booster (see my Cell Booster Tech Guide for details). Link is in my sig line.

3. Purchase a cellular booster if you have at least one and preferably two bars of cellular signal. See my Cellular Booster Guide for details. Link is in my sig line.

4. Switch to a carrier that offers better coverage in  your area.

Booster doesn’t help as signal too weak. Wi-Fi doesn’t work if internet is down. Can’t change carriers as I had tremendous faith in ATT coverage and foolishly contracted a phone with them. Thank you, but you told me nothi no I don’t already know😊
