You want control of your keypad sounds...You have it!

There have been many comments asking to control the chirp and arming/disarming sounds that come from the keypad. Its been a long process, but you now have it.

NOTE: You will only see this new enhancement if your keypad looks like the one below.

ADJUSTING THE ARMING/DISARMING SOUNDS IS NOT AVAILABLE ALTHOUGH IT IS VISIBLE. THIS FUNCTION IS STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT.

  1. Log into your Digital Life account using a web browser (This feature is not yet available in the app, however is available using your mobile browser.)
  2. Navigate to your keypad settings
  3. You can perform the following actions:
    • Lower and raise the arming/disarming sounds (THIS FEATURE IS NOT YET AVAILABLE)
    • Mute and increase the sound when pressing the keypad buttons
    • Mute and increase the sound heard when a door/window is opened/closed
    • Darken or brighten the backlight of your keypad

And it...... DOESN'T WORK! The volume slider just returns to the maximum volume position.... Nice... This happens when armed or disarmed... VERY disappointing.

Hello @directv_123

Which slider are you referring to?

The one labeled "Arming/Disarming Volume".... You can slide it, but when it goes to update ("Working..."), it doesn't "take". It goes back to MAX. I tried 2 different browsers. Firefox and Edge.

Ah.... update.... You cannot slide to MINIMUM.... you can only go to 'half way'.... If you slide to minimum (silent), it will immediately return to MAX.

Just tested: The 'halfway volume' is as loud as ever... there's been no fix for the problem as far as I can tell. You can set at 'halfway', but the volume is still 'maximum'. Thanks for getting our hopes up... Oh, and tell your software development team that they need to do QA before releasing to Production.

I have to admit I was pretty excited to see the slider feature added this morning after more than a year of complaints from hundreds of customers.  I'm not at home to test volume but the slider definitely doesn't work right.  Just as directv_123 said, try to go more than halfway and it bounces to full volume.  And it appears halfway slider is still full volume on the pad.  Are you listening AT&T?  Good on you for finally moving forward.  Let's get the bugs worked shall we?

I apologize for jumping the gun on this, however the only functionality not yet available is lowering the arming/disarming sounds. However, this functionality is coming which is evident by the visibility of the option which was not originally there. Here are the options you now see when logging into your account on the web.

  • Lower and raise the arming/disarming sounds (THIS FEATURE IS NOT YET AVAILABLE)
  • Mute and increase the sound when pressing the keypad buttons (AVAILABLE)
  • Mute and increase the sound heard when a door/window is opened/closed (AVAILABLE)
  • Darken or brighten the backlight of your keypad (AVAILABLE)

I have a different keypad - the buttons are covered by a flap that hinges down.

Will this functionality be coming to that keypad?

I'm a bit concerned that this system was installed 6 months ago, and apparently I was sold an old model keypad.

I too wonder if this will be coming to those of us with a key pad that has a flip down cover. Any word @ATTDigitalLifeCS ?
