Walmart activated phone

I bought an iPhone 11 in April of 2021 in the U.S. through Walmart for $599, but had to pay like 30 payments of $20 on my AT&T bill. Enjoy.com delivered and sent somebody to my house to set it up. I paid it off a few days ago and am in Germany for next weeks. I tried to get AT&T to unlock so I could put in my German SIM card, but the unlock request to AT&T says they won’t unlock it because it was sold and set up by Walmart. How do I get this phone unlocked?

Hi there, vasnow5150. We understand that you are trying to unlock a device that you have paid off. We can help you with that.

To make sure that you have met all the requirements for the device to be unlocked, please review our device eligibility requirements.

One of the requirements pertains to you:

Paid off early: The wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request.

It looks like, per your post, that you met that, and you have submitted your request in the portal. Since you are overseas, we do suggest that you give our International Support line a call, so they can do a further investigation.

You can reach our International Support at +1.314.925.6925. Since you are an active AT&T customer, they will be able to help you. If the phone itself is still active and not disconnected, it is free call from that phone.

If there is anything else that we can do for you, please reach back out to us again.

Thank you being an AT&T customer.
