Voicemail Not Set Up

I have an iPhone 6 with the operating system 12.1.2 and for the last several months I haven't been receiving voicemails. My dad will call me and then message me that it says, "The person you are trying to call has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet." Which makes absolutely no sense because I have had this phone/phone number for years and my voicemail was working perfectly fine just a couple months ago. I don't know what happened, maybe it was because of an iPhone update? I am clueless as to how to fix this issue and I would really like my voicemail back. So any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi @viningl380,

Thanks for reaching out! Allow us to help. You mentioned the problems started happening after you updated your device. When checking your voicemail, does it prompt you to set it up again? Or, are you able to view it, despite not receiving any voicemails?

You can also troubleshoot this issue by using our Device Support page. It should already be set to the Voicemail section, beneath Device Topics. If it isn't, you'll need to select the brand and make of your device to begin. On the page, you'll see Fix voicemail issues, and Set Up Voicemail. Go through both and see if this helps. We look forward to hearing back from you!

I need to look up my current texts, and voicemails using my computer instead of my cellphone.  How do I go about doing that?

Unfortunately, your "answer" doesn't lead to any information at all in my case, because my phone is a OnePlus 6; there are no OnePlus phones in your device section. (And after 3 hours with ATT "support", in a combination of chat and calls, no progress was made).

Could you/ anyone give an outline of what the device-specific instructions actually configure? I imagine i could set the phone parameters myself, if only i had information about what needs to be done. Thanks

I just need to vent here and disabuse AT&T from the notion that they are doing anything to solve this problem.  I have the same issue with voicemail saying that "the person you are calling has a voice mail box that is not set up. Goodbye".  It is set up, and I've spent 3 hours with three different people on AT&T chat who all have me rebooting the phone (a total of 10 times) to no effect.  Their help page is useless. Chat is useless, and the phone number they list is also useless. If this question was actually solved, please list the solution as AT&T doesn't seem to have it!

I took mine into an AT&T store and they fixed it there. Not sure what they
did but I would take it into a store and see what they can do there.

I think that is exactly the answer--thank you. I just wish the chat guys
had recommended it on Sunday at any point during the 3-hour snooze fest.
Glad to know it is fixable!

That's not something that AT&T supports
