Unlocking phone email not acknowledged

I sold my phone to a friend of mine, and in the process of unlocking it for him to use I keep getting the email and then clicking to confirm only to get an email afterwards that says I never confirmed my unlock request and that 24 hours have passed and I have to start it again. I have two screenshots showing both my IMEI Number and the Confirmation number

By chance were you using GMail to submit the request?  There has been a discussion here on GMail problems receiving confirmation emails. Link below has this info. Hope this helps.
