Unlocking device does not work

I am trying to unlock my iphone that was previously with at&t but is no longer on a plan anymore. It meets all the eligiblity requirements but when i enter the imei number on the form it says it is not an at&t phone. I can clearly see in the general/about settings that it is an at&t phone.

Hello, @banana0709,

Thanks for reaching out. A device has to be unlocked from the carrier. Was AT&T its most recent carrier? If not, you'll need to reach out there for assistance in unlocking the device.

Here are things to know about unlocking a device through AT&T. Was it on an AT&T postpaid account for sixty days with no past due or unpaid balance or on an AT&T prepaid account for six months? If it meets that and the other requirements listed in the preceding link and the most recent carrier was AT&T, let us know so we might investigate further.

Have a great week.
