Unlocking an iPhone 6s

I'm trying to get my old iPhone 6s unlocked. I upgraded to an 11 about three years ago and just upgraded last week to the 14 ProMax. I am getting  this error message "We can't unlock this device for you because AT&T did not sell or activate it" when I use the "Unlock Your Device." I got it from AT&T. I've never gotten an iPhone from anyone else.

That means the IMEI isn’t in the unlocking database.  If the phone hasn’t been used for a long time, it likely got purged.  Regardless of the reason, the IMEI isn’t in the database.  You’ll have to call to have them manually research the IMEI.
