Unlocking an IMEI-locked device for use with another carrier
Heyo!
I am another one of those happy people who are trying to Unlock Device to be able to use it with another carrier (there’s nothing AT&T did wrong - I’m simply moving for about a year to a place where AT&T does not exist at all), only to be greeted by a “Looks like the IMEI number you entered doesn’t match an AT&T device” message. I’ve seen a few people with the same issue on these and other forums, and they all had this issue resolved by PM’ing @ATTCares - except that “this account cannot receive private messages” anymore, and the Contact Us link sends me in a loop to the Unlock Device window that returns the same error, and Try Another Solution sends me back to Contact Us, closing said loop.
Also, before anyone asks, yes, the device is definitely locked to ATT (IPad Mini 2, network settings are locked and AT&T is stated as the current carrier).

I’m pretty sure iPads are not locked. Yes, you can’t change network settings, they will update themselves when you insert another SIM card.

If you are correct - that’d be great. Sadly, can’t try it yet, as I’m only getting to that ATT-less country in a week or so.
