unlock

I have called ATT to unlock my phone and they give me the process number CM20220826_154459809.... this was almost one week ago,.... and up to know my phone is not unlocked.... any suggestions?

You called on the phone to request an unlock?  That’s not how it normally works.  Normally, you use the online unlocking portal.

Have you checked on your request using the portal?  Also, if you actually used the online portal for the request instead of calling, did you respond to the confirmation link in the email they sent?

yes and yes.... first time I used the online portal... and did not work... SO I decided to call... I hold the phone for more than 1 hour... and they give me another support number.... and still does not work....

Thanks for the support... I am really disapointed withh al of this.... I just found out that my IMEI does not match the request number.... so this is realy a mass.... I do work full time and when I have some minutes I call ATT to find out that they did NOTHING up to know.... ATT never more in my life

Can you expand on why the online portal didn’t work?  Were you denied?  If so, did you get an error message saying that the phone couldn’t be unlocked because of a specific reason?  “IMEI doesn’t match the request number doesn’t make sense”, unless the IMEI was entered wrong.

You need the request number and imei to check status. Since support apparently put the request in for OP, that is probably what happened. If so, there may not be an active request for the correct imei, meaning the OP should be able to put a new request in.

I believe ATT had entered the wrong IMEI... but this also does not make any sense once ATT can recognize when the IMEI does not EXIST... I really don't know what is hapenning... still blocked

@dwill05 can you tell me about how long is appropriate to wait for the unlock code once I confirmed the request AND immediately received the approval email?  It's been several hours, but this is also my 2nd or 3rd attempt at getting one.  I appreciate your insight.

It may take a day or two for the unlock to be processed by Apple after you get the approval from AT&T.  There is no “unlock code” for an iPhone.  Apple updates their activation servers and changes the lock status on the phone remotely.  You won’t get an email it’s done, it will just happen.  You can check the Carrier Lock status line in the settings - general - about menu on your phone.
