UNLOCK

I bought iPhoneX at AT&T store and after 2 months it had a system malfunction. I called apple and they replaced that phone with a new phone. Now, after 6 months I called AT&T to unlock my phone and they are saying that I haven't used the service for 6 months so I have to wait to get it unlocked. But I fulfilled my 6 months its not my fault that the phone had a malfunction and Apple had to replace it with a new IEMI number. I don't know what to do. I wasted more than $1300 for nothing. I am traveling in 3 days and I don't have a phone.

Unfortunately, the 6 month clock starts over when you switch the phone but that 6 month requirement is only meant for prepaid phones sold at a lower cost. Since you paid full retail price for your phone, the 6 month requirement does not apply to your phone. Getting an exception, though, is difficult. You can try to call and ask for advanced tech support. You need someone who can manually process your unlock request. Otherwise, file an FCC complaint and someone who can process your unlock will contact you. Not sure if that will happen in 3 days, though.
