Unlock Simlock IPhone XR purchased in USA and now in Germany

Last Novemer, I bought my phone in Pittsburgh at an AT&T store.

Now, I'm back home in Germany, but I can't manage to unlock the Simlock.

I've phoned the Helpdesk a few times, but sadly, I feel that I'm just getting the run around. The last worker said that it would work in a few hours, because a major update with the system would be complete by then. Well, it didn't work in a few hours.

I've also try to fill out an unlock device form using my IMEI number, but the website has 'Oops, been experiencing technical difficulties.'

I would be very very grateful for some suggestions.

Hi @Sid

Thank you for reaching out to us. We'll be happy to assist you.

Does your device meet all of the unlock eligibility criteria? If you didn't have 60 days of postpaid service or 6 months of prepaid service, the device is not eligible. If you do meet that requirement, have submitted a request and it's still not working, please let us know and we'll be happy to proceed from there.

Dear Darais,

Regarding the eligibility criteria:

I was under my Aunt's AT&T plan in America and when I moved to Germany, I was taken off the plan. My Aunt's plan is still active.

I have tried to submit a request form several times, using my old telephone number, and my IMEI number, but I always get the message: Oops, we are having technical difficulties.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Submit as a non customer.

I've already tried submitting the form as a non-customer using the requested IMEI number.

My smart boyfriend had a really smart idea and it worked!

We had someone submit the form from a Computer in America for us. No problem, because of bypassing network filtering from traffic outside the US.
