Unlock request stuck on pending status

I submitted an unlock request for an iPhone XR, I received an email to confirm the unlock request but I totally forgot to go into the email a click on the confirm link within 24 hours. Now the unlock request says pending and if I try to resubmit I get a message saying there is an unlock request pending for this device.

At this time, please continue to check the unlock status until it opens back up for processing.
