Unlock iPhone 6 plus

Hi, I have submitted 2 requests online on the 20th but got denied. I called Customer service and spoke with Antonio on the 20th and he submitted another request and I was told I will receive an email notification on the 22nd. I did not. So I called customer service again on the 22nd and spoke with Jillian and she told me I was denied due to unpaid fees and contract. I explained to Jillian that I do not owe any fee and I am no longer under any contract. She then got more information from the system and confirmed with me that I do not owe any fee and not under contract. She submitted another (the 4th) request for me in attempt to unlock my phone and told me that I will get a respond from ATT on 24th. It is now 11:07pm on the 24th and I have not get any email. I called customer service about 2 hours ago and all I got was "wait till tomorrow". I really cannot wait any longer. I submitted the request during the same time for my husband and we are under the same account and his phone is already unlocked 2 days ago. My question is should I continue to wait for AT&T in hope they will get back to me soon and resolve the issue, or I should go to one of those shops and pay a little bit to have someone unlock the phone?
