I have an iPhone 2G (MB384LL/A) with an AT&T simlock.
I would like to unlock it to use it in europe.
Can anybody help to unlock my device?

Unlock codes for a phone that old are not available

iPhones do not have unlock codes and that phone is no longer supported by Apple. Apple processes the final unlock procedure with their servers, not any of the carriers. The early iPhones cannot be unlocked because they are no longer supported by Apple. iPhone 4s or older that isn’t unlocked, is permanently locked.
AT&T can give permission to unlock the phone, but it’s not possible to go through the process with Apple servers so they will deny the unlock request.
AT&T can also not unlock any 2G phones, any 3G phones from manufacturers that they no longer do business with, like HTC, Panasonic. The Amazon fire phone and red hydrogen one are also no longer supported by the manufacture and no unlock codes are available.
🐾 I don’t work for AT&T or any carrier. Never have, never will. My replies are based on experience and reading content available on the website. If you posted personal information, please edit and remove.

I don’t believe the original iPhone was ever unlockable. Even if it could be unlocked, are there any 2G carriers anymore? None that I know of.
I just did a Google search and sandblaster is correct. The original iPhone was not on lockable with any software method. It’s also not supported by iTunes so you can’t even add any music to it.
Thanks for your feedback.
Is there no possibility to unlock this device ? Even if I make a request at apple ? Or make a manual request by phone ? I understand that I activate this phone by itunes, not ?Thx
Strange, I found a blog where AT&T was able to unlock it without a (Edited per community guidelines)... :( but it was in 2017 :( Thanks for your support :)
Because j@ilbr3ak is software. The original iPhone is hardware locked and has to be physically opened to unlock.
Pointless. It has no support from Apple or carriers.
I found some blogs where it is possible to unlock phones e.g t-mobile and also at&t but it is a manuel process 🙁 and I do not mean (Edited per community guidelines) :)
but I think it will be difficult because this devices might be not anymore in the database 🙁
Since T-Mobile is shutting down its 2G next month, and 3g network at the end of next year, and you can't use with iTunes either, I'm not sure what the point is?
In other words the phone has no network to function on because it can't work on 3g or LTE, it has no hardware for that. And you can't even connect to iTunes to download anything.
It's a dinosaur, stick it in a museum.
The OP said he wants to unlock the phone for use in Europe, so I’m guessing that whether T-Mobile, or any other US carrier, still uses 2G isn’t relevant. Presumably, the OP knows what he’s doing and there are some places in Europe who still use 2G.
Getting back to the topic, neither AT&T nor Apple can/will unlock an old iPhone 2G, so if the OP will have to find other methods, which can’t be discussed here.
If they want to try, that's up to them. But it seems like a lot of work for a phone that's worth nothing. The OP could probably pick up a $30 phone in Europe that is fully functional, and get great service.
Most countries have already shut down 2g, and some shut 3g.
The only countries still relying on 2g will be in Africa. And fallback in a few northern European countries.
2g fall back in a few countries
Well, that’s really their choice, isn’t it?
How can we improve?
