Trade in credit after changing my number

I had upgraded and traded in my old phone, then I had not received credit since the employee made a mistake doing the trade in into a different account and number non associated with me, today I spoke with a representative, & was told I had received credit under the number I use to have, which I changed my number for business purposes, basically I won’t get credit for the trade in since I changed numbers..

Groan.... That is correct You should not change your phone number.  Even if you were already getting credits, changing your phone number has been known to discontinue bill credits. But you certainly should not change your phone number because the smart label which goes with your old phone when it gets traded in is coded to connect to your phone number.

The phone number which you apparently don't have anymore.
