text messages going to different phone on my account

Recently some of the text messages sent to me are going to my husband's phone. We are on the same account. Have been for years. We both have been having the same phone numbers for 15+ years. I have an Android and have never had an iPhone associated with my phone number. He has an iPhone. We checked his iMessage settings on his iPhone. My number is not in his settings.  I spoke with AT&T today and they can't figure out how/why this is happening. AT&T created a "ticket" and are doing a "deep dive" and will get back to me within 72 hours. Anyone ever heard of this happening before?

Let's look into this for you. How long has this experience been going on? Have you tried to disable iMessages on your iPhone (Navigate to Settings > Messages and make sure that “iMessage” is turned off) then enabling it again?


You may be required to deactivate iMessage to correct the issue.
