Hello, @jarvisyazzie. Thank you for making us aware that you are receiving the SOS Only on your iPhone 8. We know how important it is to remain connected to the network.
Thank you @sandblaster for your quick response, accurate information and good questions.
As our ACE said, you should first power down your device and take out the SIM card, check to make sure the SIM card isn't dirty or dusty, then insert it back into the device. Once this is done, power it back up and see if the connection is restored.
If you notice the SIM looks a little dusty, clean the SIM Card (this will ensure that dust and debris aren't causing this disconnection to the network):
Also, you can check out our tool to troubleshoot your SIM card and conneciton to network.
Let us know if these steps help you to get reconnected to the network. If not, no worries, just reach back out to us and we can continue to work with you to get your reconnected!

SOS mode simply means your phone is not connected to ATT’s network. The cause could be network outage, bad SIM card, bad SIM card reader, etc. Are other ATT customers getting service? If so, try rebooting your phone and/or re-installing the SIM card.
