We're here to shed light on how you can unlock your device after you pay your installments off Gabriella234.

Thank you dwill for your fast and accurate response!.

You will be able to use your device with any carrier after you pay off your installments. If you paid off your installments through your monthly bill you will be able to submit your unlock request at the start of your next bill period.

If your installments is paid off early the wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days prior to requesting for your device to be unlocked.  Once your device is paid off you will have to wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

If you pay off your balance, and meet all of the other eligibility requirements (like time of service), then yes you can request the phone to be unlocked so it can be used with any carrier that it’s technically compatible with.

Pro tip:  Get your phone unlocked BEFORE you actually cancel your service.

@Femi  To be clear, you cannot change the length of your installment.  Your only option is either to pay off over 36 months, or pay the remaining balance in one payment.  You can’t pay extra each month so you pay off in only 12 months instead of 36 months.
