Putting AT&T Simcard in Verizon Phone

Good afternoon! My phone recently crashed for unknown reasons and due to financial issues I am looking at buying a phone from a third party. The phone that I am looking at was previously activated with Verizon. According to my research, it may still work with an AT&T simcard. Is this possible, or do I need to buy either an unlocked or AT&T phone in order to activate it with AT&T service? It is an iPhone 6. Thanks!

@KcLinux

Lol.  I’m with you.  No SIM card is needed to set up android.  I recently went through a lot of trouble setting up the iPhone for my mother.  So much for user friendly.

I'm having the same issue transferring my iPhone 6s from Sprint to AT&T for my mother. I have called Sprint and talked to them several times and they state that the phone has been unlocked and will now work on any carrier. However, when my mother called AT&T to get help activating the phone, they said it is still on Sprint. Is this a SIM card issue? When we insert the new AT&T SIM card, will it be able to work? Or are there other steps we need to go through?

@hbu935  Contact Apple and see if they have it unlocked or if a request was even made.

It all depends the exact model and specs some dumb reason all phones are
made somewhat different . I assume to make more money lbs . But either way
it will work with the correct APN and cellular (mobile data) setting. No
unlock requires. Some phones may only give you a "E" up top representing
your data tho which stand for edge basically 2g .... If have Wi-Fiavailable
as well and it's a nice phone might be worth it to you tho. I recommend to
try before buy .

THE SIM CARD I RECEIVED FROM AT&T IS LARGER THAN THE ONE IN MY VERIZON PHONE.  IS THERE ONE THE SIZE OR DO I HAVE TO BUY A NEW PHONE?

@KELDONL You don’t need a new phone. Just go to an ATT store for the correct size SIM card.

The best professional answer would be go to your local phone store and
purchase an adapter to make the smallest nano sim larger or have them use a
sim card cutter to cut it to the correct size (assuming nano) . If ever
have a sim cut ask for this outer body to keep if you ever need a bigger
one again. It's a headache I know, i do this work daily fml lol. If dont
have time for all that tho and want that instant gratification you can use
scissors but dont cut thru any metal or it's basically over for that sim
and will need a new one. I reccomend option one tho, best of luck friend !
