Purchased a financed phone from a relative
My aunt just got the new iphone 11 pro so i bought her old xs max and even though she has paid the xs off everytime i try to unlock the carrier it says that she hasnt paid it off and but she clearly has she because she has no overdue balance can anyone help?

You should be requesting the unlock as a non-customer.

Allow us to assist with your device unlock. We advise that you contact your aunt to submit the device unlock since the primary account holder will need to address any remaining past-due balance that may be attached to the device.

Hello,
You can go to att.com/deviceunlock and attempt to unlock as “not an att customer”, but if it was from your aunt, I’d have her take a moment to navigate to th site to request unlock from her account to avoid any issues. If there’s a hold up, like not paid off, it would tell her that at that time.
