Problem calling one specific number- "call can not be completed as dialed"

 Sounds completely ridiculous… I know. I DID "check the number and dial again." I've called the number by manually typing it in, using the saved contact, and even the call back option in the voice messaging.   I have tried deleting the contact information, and re-adding it. I have gone through all of the troubleshooting on the website including having my connection reset and also restarting my phone. I have also tried calling from another number in the same area and the call went through just fine.  The person I'm trying to call is my mom, on a landline, who lives over 1000 miles away. We talk every day and have talked every day for the past few years.  Suddenly, after completing the most recent update, I get the "call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again."  She is able to call me. I am able to call her from other devices.   I'm able to call other people,  but for some reason, suddenly, my "call cannot be completed as dialed." What's going on?

There is already a support ticket on this. The problem is nobody will call me back. I’m not going through all the same steps for the 4th time. I still don’t see my original post about this, but I’m not commenting any further here.

I have same problem with calling *a specific number* from my cell phone using att prepaid. It’s a bike company 1-888 support number. Have no problem with other Verizon prepaid phone or google voice service.  The network voice response is “your call cannot be completed. Please confirm your rate plan is active by calling 611 or check the number dialed to ensure it’s allowed as we don’t support 900 or 986 dialing “ it’s funny as I make a 1-888 call.  Also confirm no problem with other numbers. Even trying other 888, 800, 855, 844 numbers without problem.

additional info: Already prepaid my plan for the whole year.

To ensure we're headed in the right direction what zip code are you attempting to dial these numbers from? Toll-free numbers may be limited to certain ranges, so we'd like to check.

We recommend signing into our wireless troubleshooting tool to attempt a connection refresh. This will refresh your phone's connection to the network and can find tech/service errors and result in quick fixes.
