Possible to transfer number to new phone without SIM card

I lost my SIM card and am going to buy a new phone. But I want to know if it's possible to transfer my number to that new phone if I lost my sim from the old phone?

You simply get a SIM with your number on the new phone.  Assuming you’re talking about getting a new iPhone 15 or 14, you buy the new phone as an upgrade and it will come with an eSIM with the number on it, or get a new phone without a eSIM and download your AT&T eSIM.

To be clear, you still do have an active account with that phone number, correct?  Not sure why you would be paying for a phone you can’t use because you lost the SIM.

Yes to answer your question. I do have an active account. What I was trying to say was, would it work if I were to buy a phone that already had a sim but I've lost my sim on the old phone and would like my number on that new phone.

Hey @Flowerbloomer45, we hear you, so let's get you the help you need!

To transfer number to the new phone, a pin validation is needed. Which you will be receiving on your device.

Please visit the nearest AT&T store and ask them to provide you a duplicate SIM of the same number, so the pin validation can be done.

Let us know if this helps!

Thank you,

That depends on where you buy the phone. If you buy from ATT, the sim will be programmed with your number. If you buy elsewhere, you’ll need to get ATT to activate it with your number.
