Not recieving SMS Authentication Code on iPhone 11 for Instagram
I've just upgrade to the iPhone 11 Pro. Love the phone, the camera is unreal, but not sure if I'm having a service issue or hardware app installation issue. I've downloaded Instagram, and had to reset my password. I've been trying to authenticate into Instagram. I get 90% of the way setting my password, then I get to the last mile where the SMS 4-digit code is not sending to my new device. I miss IG, can someone please help me troubleshoot why I'm not receiving the SMS Authentication code? Looks like this is a common issue/theme in the community thread.

Hello! I was wondering if you ever got your problem solved? I have the exact problem and haven't been able to find a solution.

Bump. I recently ported from Verizon recently, and upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro. I’m also receiving this same issue, other short code sms messages seemed to have worked fine. Instagram is the only that I know that isn’t working.

Yes exactly. I called AT&T about it and they said the issue was resolved but it still isn’t working.

Everyone who is set up two-factor authentication are you using your full 10-digit phone number? I just noticed the OP referred to only 7 digits.

How does that work? My Instagram account has my full phone number, with my area code, connected to it so it should recognize all 10 digits. I’d think that works better than 7 digits.

I believe Instagram has switched from 4 digit verification codes to 6 digits. Instagram will even allow for me to input the phone number, and I’ve tried with +1 before the area code as well without. In the following prompt Instagram will say sent to (last 4 digits of number)

This is a really common problem. Many people complain that they do not receive SMS messages when resetting the password. I had a similar situation. I had a business account that I developed for a very long time, and I had many subscribers there. For some reason, I suspended my activity and did not log in to this account for two years. When I decided to resume everything again, I couldn't log in to my account. I tried to reset my password and contact customer support but to no avail. I had to create a new account and develop it with the help of the subscribers I bought on goread.io. It was the only way to solve the problem quickly. And as it turned out a good way.

I'm having the same exact issue, and its even with an S21, so this issue affects whoever is trying to receive an Instagram's code, upon login, via an AT&T line. Please fix ASAP.

I am trying to find an solution for same problem elsewhere. So I guess that this information might be useful what I have now. It seems that iPhone are not able to receive so called Premium SMS that was used in past for subscription services like receiving some information daily or to buy an ringtone. But nowadays it is used for receiving security codes in different systems.
Do not take this information for granted but it might be the problem. And I myself still am trying to find an solution to receive those SMS on my iPhone.
Good luck to everyone to find solution to this problem.
