not receiving voicemails

I'm not receiving voicemails on my IPhone. The only thing I've done is turning the phone on and off. Any other suggestions?

Hello @Candicegm,

Welcome to the Community Forums.  I think my kids only communicate with voicemail, so I understand how important it is.  I would be happy to help.

Thank you for trying to power cycle the phone, as cliché as it sounds it usually fixes many issues.  The next step would be to reset the network.  This will clear out any saved Wi-fi passwords, but helps refresh your connection.

Please go Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network > Reset

If you continue to run into issues, please use our Troubleshoot & Resolve too.  Make sure your device is selected, and then for the issue choose Voicemail.  Please complete all the troubleshooting steps.

Lastly, if it has never worked on this device, please let us know as there may be a provisioning error on our end.  I hope you are able to access your voicemail, and please have a fantastic weekend!

I bought a new iPhone XR and it seems my voicemails are not showing up in the voicemail section of the phone app. People can leave a message. I can access the messages by hitting 1 on the keyboard. But there is no indication that I have new voicemails and I can’t play them through the regular voicemails section. Help?

Hello - I tried the "reset network" option because we switched from Verizon to AT&T, but I'm still not receiving any voicemails. What should I try next? Thank you.

I am notified of my voicemails 3 days after someone leaves them. My phone is used for business so I can't have this happening. I have tried the reset network thing many times and it doesn't work. Help! I really need this fixed.

I’ve had this problem with my iPhone 7 Plus and my current iPhone XS Max. If it’s really a necessity then you can call your phone number from your phone to check your voicemail, only you wouldn’t be able to read it. Sometimes, and I must stress sometimes, doing a soft reset on the phone works. Press the volume up button once, then the volume down button once, then hold the power button until the screen goes black. iPhone should restart and turn back on within a minute. Voicemails SOMETIMES pop up with a few minutes of the reset.

Same thing is happening with my iPhone. Did you ever find a resolution?

I had this issue following removal of the Robokiller app from my iphone X. After some searching, I found the following resource and was able to successfully restore my voice mail service:

Thank you so much for sharing this article. I had the same issue with not getting voice message- even ATT couldn't figure out why my voicemail wasn't working. It's been a year now without voicemail (caller couldn't leave message) and robokiller only sometimes work in answering calls. I switched from android to iphone xr and subscribed with robokiller a year ago. After I cancelled and deactivated my phone from robokiller, my voicemail is now back on. I followed the instructions on the link above. Thank you so much!
