No service after activating SIM card

I activated the sim on my new iPhone 12. Showing no service on old phone but not service on new one. How long will this take?

In activating your device, did you follow the steps as stated on the website? If that was the case, then you need to contact customer service on 611 (from your AT&T phone) or 800-331-0500 from any phone for assistance in activating your SIM card.
