Managed networks are locked
I have 5G unlimited plan and do not use wifi as I do not use that much data on my mobile device. Does anyone know what the unsecured Wi-Fi ssid “attwifi” is? I understand the what the first ssid is which has the lock icon next to it. I’ve even had Apple support try show me how to delete the ssid “attwifi” but we are not able to as the delete option isn’t available. When i go look at the details of the “attwifi” it is a bootp type and set to automatically connect. Is bootp something like an IT administrator would use if my device belong to an enterprise/corporation? When I exit out of the settings for the attwifi, screen will display “managed networks are locked” briefly. Screenshot attached for reference.

Thank you for sharing those details, shaneanthonyshenanigans. When it comes to the networks your phone displays, here's what you need to know.
As @formerlyknownas shared, you aren't connected to those networks and won't be unless you possess the password and sign in to those networks.
Your phone will always show what networks are available within your general location. In locations where Wi-Fi networks aren't available no networks will show.
Currently, it is not possible to turn off Auto Join for those other networks that you're not connected to, if that's what you're trying to do.
We hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any other questions with AT&T products and services.
Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.

Thank you for the input. Can you please explain to me what the Wi-Fi that appears as attwifi with no locked icon is used for? It seems that other AT&T users in other cities do not have this managed WiFi SSID listed. My neice 3 hrs away only has the locked WiFi labeled something as Att-passport.

@WifiNO5GYES
That is AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot access. As an AT&T customer you have access to hotspots that may be around town in places where cellular is not as good.
In my experience, you will be required to sign in.
You do not have to connect. I prefer not to, Even if I have to turn off Wi-Fi to prevent connection
