Lost my iphone 6. What do?

Hello, I lost my iphone 6 while traveling and it's gone forever.

Ideally, I would like to buy a new phone and keep my current number and all of the apps and data. Is that possible?

How should I go about that? Can I buy a phone online and bring it to ATT or Apple?

What should I do?

Thank you.

Sure you can buy a new phone online from many different places, including ATT and Apple. To keep your number, you need to get a replacement SIM card and have it activated with your number. If you buy from ATT as an upgrade, it will come with a SIM card already programmed with your number. As for apps and data, hopefully, you have a backup of your old phone. If so, once you get your new phone you can restore from that backup which will restore all your apps and data.

If you want to keep your number, one of the main ways of identifying yourself is the phone and the SIM card that you no longer have.

I would recommend you go to a corporate store to get a replacement SIM card for your existing phone number.  You can buy a phone there if you want

You can purchase an iPhone from Apple, best buy, etc.  But you may not be able to get a new sim card with your existing phone number unless you deal directly with a t and t

Awesome, thank you both. I'll stop by a store and make all that happen.

Thank you to our ACEs for that helpful information.

There are several options for replacing your lost device.

The fastest way to get a new SIM card is to visit your local AT&T store, we suggest making an appointment prior. This will help you get the help you deserve quicker.
