Go into an AT&T corporate store and tell them what happened. They can blacklist the lost phone, and give you a replacement SIM for your "cracked phone" so you can use it until you either find or replace the lost phone.
If you do that, then later find your lost phone, you can contact AT&T to have that phone removed formteh blacklist and you can then get a new SIM card for it and resume using it.
Note that if you go into an AT&T corporate store, they should not charge you for replacement SIM cards, but if you go into an "Authorized Reseller" they may chage you for a SIM. I have heard stories of some of them charging as much as $30 for one.
