Lost 2014 Receipt - How long does AT&T store a Receipt? Any other way to request?

Background: I bought an iPhone online from AT&T in 2014. I have an extended warranty with a 3rd party insurer and i can claim the cost of replacement. I went to the AT&T store to get a duplicate invoice and for that I provided

- my IMEI# but nothing came up.

- provided my cell phone # associated with the phone still nothing came up.

The only thing that DID come up was my recent purchase (in 2016) with AT&T. The store person doubts that perhaps AT&T does not store the information that far.

Question:

1. How long does AT&T keep the information?

2. Is there any other way for me to request AT&T to dig up my invoice for 2014? I willing to pay a fee if they dig up the invoice - since it will save me money to claim the extended warranty. Please help!

Thanks,
Shailesh

Hi there @The_Monk!

I’m sorry to hear about your trouble obtaining a copy of your order invoice. I know how important good record keeping is!

However, if you have an extended warranty, I believe they should be able to verify your coverage using simply the IMEI number.

I was unable to find any specific guidelines with the access I have for your first question, my apologies.

To your second question, we do not charge for such records, they are given freely as long as you are the purchaser.

Did you buy it from that specific store? As they likely do not share records between stores without a good reason.

Did you order online and pick it up at the store? If that is the case, they may be stored in the online records rather than that stores specific records!

I hope that helps, best of luck, and have a great day!

I am claiming extended warranty against my credit card company so no the IMEI does not suffice. I need itemized receipt. I did buy it online. I have been to the store, chatted online and talked to a rep on phone. None of them can locate the receipt based on imei # or the other criteria.

Hello Shailesh,

Thank you for providing us with that background information. I believe I have a couple of solutions for your device issue.

We are more than happy to help gather any necessary information you require. If you would please private message us with your wireless phone number and your imei, together we can get this resolved.

In addition, you mentioned that you have insurance for your apple device through a 3rd party. It sounds like you are referring to AppleCare. I have their contact information to expedite your claim process. You can reach them at 800-676-277; they are open 7am-10pm Central Time.

I hope you get your device concerns resolved soon Shailesh. Thank you for choosing AT&T. Have a great day!
